2022 Board Officers
Kerry Murray, President
Kerry Murray moved to Carroll Knolls in November 2019, with her spouse and their two young children. Kerry first became involved in the CA by volunteering as the Events Chairperson in 2020. She joined the board as the Treasurer in 2021 and will serve as the 2022 President. Kerry has enjoyed being involved in the civic association and getting to know so many wonderful neighbors. She hopes to continue to help our civic association grow and hopes that more and more neighbors will volunteer for committees and board positions.
Outside of volunteering for the civic association and being a mom, Kerry is a doctor of physical therapy. She opened her own practice in Kensington in April 2021, Kensington Physical Therapy, and specializes in sports and orthopedic rehabilitation and wellness.
Maggie Flowers, Vice President
Maggie Flowers joined the board in January 2021 as the Secretary and will be serving as the Vice President in 2022. She moved to the DC area in 2007 from Texas for what was supposed to be a three-year experiment before settling in Austin or Houston. She and her partner, Julie (a Silver Spring native), were priced out of DC real estate (thankfully!) and landed in Carroll Knolls in 2015. She always meant to get more involved in the association, but it took a pandemic to actually make her do it.
When she's not working on civic association activities, she spends her time in public service - currently at the Administration for Community Living administering state funding to support low-income Medicare beneficiaries. She and her partner live on Homestead Dr. with their twin 4-year olds, elderly cat, and kitten.
Kristin Nelson, Treasurer
Kristin Nelson has lived on McKenney Ave for nearly six years. Originally from Rockville (and an alumna of MCPS) she went to St. Mary's College of Maryland before heading to California and New England for over 10 years. She lived in the District for a few years before returning to Maryland. Kristin will be serving as Treasurer in 2022.
By day she is the Head of Customer Operations for Cerberus, a software company in Arlington. Prior to her five years there, Kristin held management roles at large technology companies in Silicon Valley and the Boston suburbs. She's been an animal rescue volunteer for two decades and her current foster fails Penny and Lucy are everything. Kristin is also active with Operation Walk and the Arthritis Foundation, causes of particular importance after two knee replacements before 40. Look for her at Glenwood Pool, Strosniders, or walking around the neighborhood.
Dave Coyne, Secretary
Dave Coyne and his wife Tanya have lived on Gates Avenue since 1995. Their adult children (Jordan and Jackson) both attended Oakland Terrace and Einstein and are proud Glenwood Tiger swim team alumni.
Dave began serving as the Membership Committee Chair in 2021, and is joining the board as the Secretary for 2022. Professionally, he has been in the field of nonprofit organization fundraising for more than 30 years, the last 18 with The Sheridan Group consulting firm.
He is active on several professional boards and is a past president of the Franklin and Marshall College Alumni Association and a past Trustee of the College. He served in many volunteer capacities during his kids' MCPS days and has served as Glenwood Pool Board Secretary...for a while now.
